On the Twentieth Century, The Musical Comedy of a Lifetime

Highly unusual for me to go to see the same musical comedy twice in one month, but I am going to sing (not literally, I can’t sing) the highest praises of this show which I adore. Rush out to get a ticket; I believe it is on until the middle of July, but would not be surprised if it is extended.

Starring: Kristin Chenoweth, Peter Gallagher, Andy Karl,
Mark Linn-Baker, Michael McGrath, Mary Louise Wilson

Book & Lyrics by Betty Comden & Adolph Green, Music by Cy Coleman

On the Twentieth Century combines the giddy hilarity of screwball comedy and the magic of musical theatre. Set amidst the Golden Age of Hollywood and the height of American train travel, the show is a confection of over-the-top laughs, love and luxury that will put a spring in your step.  I guarantee it!

We had lunch at Bryant Park Grill, atmospheric and well-located in Bryant Park,  next door to our wonderful 42nd Street Public Library, a favorite landmark of mine. I spent many hours of university time there doing research for term papers.
